What's the link between Stubbe and social projects and De Baanderij and liquids transport? The answer lies somewhere in the Third World and Gouda!
In 1990 the logistics centre, De Baanderij opened the Goede Doelen or Good Causes Filling Station on Industriestraat in Gouda. This is a unique concept where both business, as well as private customers across the region deliberately fill-up their tank of petrol: Partly due to the favourable pricing, but also because the profit from this filling station is used to invest in numerous global social projects. Since it opened the filling station has become the first choice for many when filling up their cars. De Baanderij keeps customers up-to-date about the goals that are being achieved through a filling station pass, a business card for those enterprises intending to incorporate socially responsible business models.
Stubbe is also involved in De Baanderij and a number of projects have already been realised at (or below) cost price through sharing knowledge and opportunities. Whether it is about transporting sea containers to Rotterdam and Antwerp or an urgent drive to Bosnia, De Baanderij can always count on Stubbe's support, enabling Stubbe to contribute to making a better world, as cost-savings means that money for social projects is actually used for its intended purpose.
Contributing to social projects in this way is not only very easy, but valuable as well, as Stubbe's volunteer drivers – driving in convoys to destinations in Eastern Europe, the former Yugoslavia or sometimes even further - will confirm. Emergency aid is of course hard work, but everything becomes more fluid under pressure, doesn't it? The cohesion between Stubbe and De Baanderij: Partners in social projects!
