Zijderlaan strengthens its logistics position for liquid products through acquisition of Stubbe

As of 1 July 2025, logistics service provider Zijderlaan has taken over all activities of Stubbe. This strategic acquisition marks a significant expansion of Zijderlaan’s logistics services in the field of liquid products. Following the recent commissioning of a new distribution centre in Dinteloord, the acquisition represents the next milestone in the long-term growth strategy of this family owned company.

Three decades of cooperation as a solid foundation

The collaboration between Zijderlaan and Stubbe dates back to 1996. For a mutual client, Stubbe has been responsible for the transport of liquid products to Zijderlaan’s distribution centre in Stolwijk, where the products are filled into drums and IBCs. From there, the goods are transferred to Zijderlaan for needed warehousing and distribution. This longstanding and close cooperation provides a strong foundation for the integration of both companies.

Shared values and corporate culture

Zijderlaan and Stubbe are both family-owned companies with a strong heritage, characterized by a high level of engagement, short lines of communication, and a people-oriented corporate culture. Stubbe will continue to operate independently under its established name within the newly formed holding, Zijderlaan Tank Logistics B.V. This means that the acquisition will not have any immediate impact on clients or employees. All existing personnel, including the full management team, will remain within the organisation. Moving forward, Zijderlaan’s executive board will be responsible for the overall management of the organisation.

Safeguarding continuity and creating new opportunities

This acquisition ensures the long-term continuity of Stubbe. Sabine Zijderlaan, Chief Executive Officer of Zijderlaan, comments: “Stubbe is a true specialist with a solid market position, built over many years. After nearly three decades of cooperation, this acquisition represents both a logical next step and a valuable opportunity. By combining our strengths, we will be able to offer our clients even more comprehensive support throughout the entire logistics chain. We are proud to welcome the Stubbe team into our organisation.”

Jolanda and Patricia Snel, owners of Stubbe, add: “This acquisition provides us with a stable and promising future. We will continue to focus on our core expertise, now with the backing and strength of a like-minded and reliable partner.”

Commitment to joint growth

In the period ahead, both companies will focus on harmonising and optimising operational processes, further strengthening internal cooperation, and jointly developing integrated logistics solutions for their clients. Innovation and sustainability will remain key priorities within the shared strategic agenda.
